Whilst we have been supporting clients with video consultations throughout the lock down period, we have been busy reviewing all Public Health England Guidelines and our Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Guidelines and writing policies and completing risk assessments so that we can reintroduce safe face to face appointments.
Things will look different when you return to 1st 4 Physiotherapy
For our full detailed guidelines and policies for safe face to face practice, please see our dedicated Covid-19 updates page on our website.
What will be different.
Staff are working remotely as much as possible so please always leave a message if your call is not answered straight away.
Payment will be taken on booking an appointment via card or bank transfer, no cash or cheque payments accepted.
You will be emailed online forms to fill out and email back to us before your appointment. It will seem a lot of paperwork but is necessary for all our safety.
All clients will have to be triaged via telephone before they come in. This ensures we are able to reduce time spent face to face by taking details over the phone and will check you are fit and healthy with no signs or symptoms of Covid-19. We can help you to decide if face to face treatment is your best option or if you can be managed virtually to reduce the risk of disease spread and transmission.
On the day you will only see your Physiotherapist; no other staff will be allowed into the building and please attend alone unless you need a carer or a chaperone with you. If bringing a chaperone please inform us and ask them to fill out the attached chaperone consent form.
Appointments will be more spaced out with 20 to 30 mins left between clients so you don’t pass anyone else when leaving and so a thorough cleaning and disinfecting can be carried out of all the areas before the next client.
We have removed all soft furnishings and the space will look more clinical.
We will not be using any laundry, towels or plinth covers as before. We will now use waterproof wipeable pillows that will be disinfected along with the vinyl plinth after each client.
Please wait in your car when you arrive, do not enter the building until we ring you to come in or wave you in. Please use the sanitising gel by the external door before you enter the clinic, and try not to touch anything. Please only bring a small bag inside.
Weather permitting the external door will be left open, and windows open to ventilate the spaces.
Of course, if you feel unwell just before your appointment, we’d expect you not to come in but you will also be rescreened at the door on arrival and have your temperature checked. If your temperature is above 37.5 degrees you will be asked to reschedule.
Please wear a face mask or covering to attend enter the building but if you forget you will be provided with one of our disposable ones at the door.
The therapist will be in full PPE, disposable apron, disposable gloves and facemask.
The waiting room area and toilet will be closed as per the CSP guidelines, but if you need the toilet in an emergency, then please let the therapist know so they can clean it afterwards.
Lastly thank you to all clients for your ongoing support through what has been a very difficult few months for the business and all staff, we hope we can continue to offer you the high-quality care and service we have always aspired to.
