After much research and consultation with our staff about how to manage the current situation regarding Covid-19 whilst still continuing to deliver high quality care and treatments to our clients. We want to reassure all our clients that we are following the advice from Public Health England, the UK government and the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) and having worked in the NHS and having experience with infection control procedures we want to reassure our clients that we are managing any risks to our staff and of course our clients whose health and wellbeing is of the upmost importance to us.
Steps taken so far in addition to following our long standing clinic infection control procedures have included spraying and wiping down every surface after an appointment with antibacterial wipes, removing all clinic linen that we used before, and screening people who attend the clinic for any signs of them being unwell (with a persistent cough or a temperature) We are asking clients to wash their hands for 20 seconds before and after entering for treatment at the wash hand basin. We have hand gel in our waiting and treatment area and our staff are fit and well.
We will also be wiping down all chairs in the waiting area and clinic room with antibacterial spray to avoid any cross contamination. All but the necessary equipment will be removed and any used will be anti bac cleaned after any staff or clients have come into contact with it.
(Please note any clients who want to bring their own pillows, or towels are encouraged to do so for their own comfort)
We will also be introducing temperature checks for our staff this week.
Our staff are keeping up to date with the all current guidance from Public Health England and will self isolate for 7 days if they develop any symptoms of a new continuous cough or a high temperature (greater than 38 degrees)
We will be introducing an online consultation procedure this week for any patients who are in the high risk category should they contract Covid-19 or for any clients who would prefer not to come in. We will also consider providing home visits to those who feel they would prefer not to come in. Clients who are considered more vulnerable are those who are over 60 years old and/or those who have medical conditions that put them at risk of complications should they contract the virus.
Moving forward we will keep you up to date with any changes that are occurring daily and want to reassure everyone that we their health is our upmost priority.
